After a year of design and development, Thumbprint 1.0 is now available for the iPad. In the beginning, our mission was clear:

1. Build a simple, powerful set of tools to help students and teachers actually learn and teach
2. Make it easy to create, borrow, and modify content for each classroom's specific needs
3. Give these tools to everyone, and
4. See what wonderful stuff they can create

We feel like we've accomplished all of our goals except the last one. That one's up to you. So please, download the Thumbprint App and start learning and creating today.

What is it?
Thumbprint is a crowdsourced platform that allows teachers and students to create, borrow, modify and share educational content. Teachers use it to create lesson plans using their own material and those borrowed from other teachers, including videos, web links, posts, and quizzes, and easily share them with students. Students use it to view nstructional materials, test their mastery with quizzes, and create essays and presentations of their own. All of this happens in a simple, drag-and-drop interface that's intuitive and fun to use.

How do I try it?
If you're on an iPad, click here to download it from the App Store. Otherwise, open the App Store on your iPad and search for Thumbprint. Once it's downloaded, Register as a new user and check out the Tutorial to get started.

How much does it cost?
I'm glad you asked. It's free. No subscriptions, no ads, no in-app purchases.

I don't have an iPad, but I think this is great. What do I do?
Hang tight for now. We're working hard to expand Thumbprint to other platforms, including a web version. When they're ready, we'll let you know. Or, you could buy an iPad. Seriously, they're great.
